The last few days have been intensely stressful for me, so I haven’t been thinking too much about the sorts of things I need to be thinking about in order to handle this blog. I’m trying to unwind, get this whole mess my life has been since last Friday sorted out. To that end, I’m in need of your prayers, and badly so. What’s been keeping your friendly neighborhood Saint Superman blogger so distracted?

In the last five days:

  1. My relationship with Nina collapsed in flames.
  2. My rental contract got conmplicated, and as a result,
  3. my prospective new roommate dropped out a week before he was to move in, meaning that
  4. I’m on the line for an entire month’s rent, in addition to mounting bills.
  5. The current status of my lease, then, is up in the air. Do I need to sign a new one, even though I’m moving in a month? This is mad complicated by the fact that the property I live on is changing hands August 1.
  6. Not only that, but when I do leave for New York, I’m going to have to pay a hefty fee for breaking my lease.
  7. I have no idea where that money is coming from.

Oh, I’m stressed.

Once I get all this sorted out, though, it’s going to be for the better than it would otherwise have been. Without the new roommate, I’m not going to have to continue paying rent once I move out; I can just break the lease and be done with it. While that’s more expensive in the short run, it’s far less expensive in the long, and will make my stay in New York shift from penurious to comfortable.

But I still need to get all this sorted out, and ASAP. Pray for me, please.

Superman is a Saint

If Superman represents the greatness contained in all men and women, written upon our hearts by the very God we seek to serve, then we represent that that very greatness can be attained by anyone, that it is a fundamentally human goal, and indeed, is the very reason each and every one of us is here. John Paul II, another superhero, once wrote to our generation "Never settle for less than the moral and spiritual greatness of which you all are capable." Let's take those words to heart, and live our lives, in Christ, the very source and inspiration for us, who is indeed the greatest hero of all.
