Quick! This link is already a year old! It could vanish at any time into the aether!

I love this stuff. Few things bring me as much joy as reinterpreting classic design, and few designs are as classic as Supes. Some of these are blisteringly original, some small tweaks, but every single one of them is brilliantly executed and intensely cool.

So, I missed my blogging goals for the day for one really awesome reason, and one not-so-awesome reason. The totally-awesome reason is that, after a really rocky week, my girlfriend and I had a great day together. We watched Peter Jackson’s King Kong, which I really didn’t like too much. What can I say? It was too long and lacked a solid core I could relate to apart from a woman falling in love with a giant gorilla. I thought it was a big, long, ridiculous excuse for me to spend some time with Nina. In that, totally justified.

The other, less awesome reason is that immediately thereafter I went to go buy a small external HD for all my media. I spent a couple of hours painstakingly organizing and moving my music over to its new home, where it’s presently measuring for curtains and arranging the furniture. If this thing breaks on me, I’m gonna be furious.

I have in essence then been fully occupied today and unable to offer you my usual witty take on the days events and cultural commentary on things I do not fully understand. Suffice it to say that somewhere in the world, great evil is being done against the will of Christ, scientists continue to develop machines that will eventually destroy us, the asteroid headed our way is getting a little closer, and the Pope was misinterpreted. Did I miss anything?

Superman is a Saint

If Superman represents the greatness contained in all men and women, written upon our hearts by the very God we seek to serve, then we represent that that very greatness can be attained by anyone, that it is a fundamentally human goal, and indeed, is the very reason each and every one of us is here. John Paul II, another superhero, once wrote to our generation "Never settle for less than the moral and spiritual greatness of which you all are capable." Let's take those words to heart, and live our lives, in Christ, the very source and inspiration for us, who is indeed the greatest hero of all.
